Due to the severe weather forecast for tomorrow afternoon, we will dismiss school on Wednesday, February 2 at 1:00 p.m. In addition, the DeSoto board training scheduled for the evening of February 2 has been cancelled. We will continue to monitor the weather closely and more information will follow regarding school for Thursday and Friday.

DeSoto Grade School Junior High Parents: Please see the district's website for a letter explaining today's adaptive pause. The letter can be found under New Updates.
Due to an increased number of students in Junior High School having to quarantine or isolate as a result of Covid -19, DeSoto Junior High School grades 6, 7 and 8 will be placed on remote learning. Remote learning will begin today January 27 and end on February 2, 2022. You may pick up your child at this time at the front entrance. In person instruction for junior high students will resume on February 3, 2022. If your student should need a lunch or breakfast during this time you will need to call the office daily between: 7:30am-8:30am. We will have daily lunch pick up between 12:15-12:30 at the back door of the kitchen at the grade school.
Good Luck to the boys basketball team as they face Unity Christian at home this evening. JV game time is 5:30. Immediately following the JV game, we will honor our 8th Grade Boys basketball players and cheerleaders.

6th Grade has begun their Digital Citizenship lessons with Mrs. Clough. On Wednesday they discussed the importance of Media Balance. Today they will learn about phishing and how to keep their private information secure.
Attached are family tips on both topics. Please discus the importance of these topics with your children. I will be posting more tips as we complete the lessons.
