It's back to school week! Today we wanted to take the time to recognize our administrators. We are looking foward to a great year!

Details for the bidding process for the surplus bus. Hard copies can be found in the mailbox outside of the main entrance.

Baseball practice for tomorrow, Aug. 2, will be from 10am-11am in the DGS gymnasium. Tennis shoes only, no cleats.

Resurfacing of the parking lot will begin tomorrow (8/1/23) morning. All visitors will need to park south of the school on E. Washington St. (picture included) & walk outside to enter through the main doors. We apologize for the inconvenience, but are very excited for this upgrade!

Tomorrow is the last day of summer lunch. We will be serving Bosco sticks, marinara, corn, fruit, milk from 11-12:30.

Pre-K Registration is tomorrow!

Registration for DGS is now online! To register your child for school: Log in to your TeacherEase parent account. Click on the registration link. Registration should take less than 15 minutes. ALL students need to be registered by Monday, July 24. Athletics Reminder!! Any student planning to participate in athletics MUST have a current, updated, physical on file in the office. Now is the time to plan! Baseball and softball practices will begin in early August.

The office will be closed Friday, June 9. Lunch will be served as scheduled.

Come learn magic tricks while polishing your public speaking skills. The Jackson County 4-H Magic Club is open to youth ages 8-18. Participants will meet on June 30, July 14, and July 21 from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Desoto Grade School. https://go.illinois.edu/JacksonMagic

Summer lunch starts tomorrow from 11am-12:30pm in the new gym. There will not be grab and go lunch this year. Lunch will be provided to summer enrichment students.

Summer enrichment starts tomorrow! It will be at DeSoto First Baptist Church from 9am -2pm. Drop off begins at 8:45. Lunch will be provided by the school. Students are strongly encouraged to bring their own water bottles.
